
Chris Russell
Chris Russell is licenced as a FIDE Instructor and by the English Chess Federation at Level 3 of their Registered Coaches Scheme. He has held a peak FIDE rating of 2207 and ECF rating of 2335. Chris enjoyed many competitive successes as a junior, most notably winning the British Under 16 Championships. He currently ranks in the ECF’s Top 100 players.
Chris spent five years as a secondary school maths teacher in Bristol where he also completed his MSc in Education. Since returning to London in 2017 he has taught chess in schools, at Chess Rising Stars camps, Adult Improvers online classes, and the Chelsea Chess Club. His students’ accomplishments include competing in the European Youth Individual and Team Championships.
